Three questions for Morgan-Lee Wagner, Communications, Partnerships & PR

How did the idea for “LOVR™ – Circular Hemp Material” first come about?
The idea was born out of frustration: how come there isn’t yet a high-performance, plastic-free, recyclable plant-based alternative material developed? Through experimenting with hemp waste, we found that it could do more than just replace leather – it also opened up a whole new way of thinking about materials.

Were there any breakthrough moments in the course of development? What were the biggest obstacles you faced?
The initial industrial production trial marked a turning point. This was when the idea became a tangible material. The biggest challenge was striking the right balance between performance and biodegradability, and creating a durable material that could still return to the cycle.

What are the next steps for your project as you look to the future?
The next milestone is the start of series production with industry partners. Alongside, we are scaling production, moving forward with certifications and developing new material variants. Our aim is not just to make materials differently, but to make them better. For people, industry and the planet.
