Three questions for Päivi Eräpuu, Material Innovation Specialist
How did the idea for “Sleep 'til Infinna™” come about?
The concept originated from a desire to showcase innovation and lead the next generation of fiber technologies. Our goal was to increase the recycled textile content in our products and introduce a new category of sleepwear. The fiber’s unique properties aligned perfectly with sleepwear needs, offering both comfort and durability while embodying a tangible example of circular fashion.
What was your personal highlight in developing “Sleep 'til Infinna™”? Was there a low point?
The highlight was successfully integrating 100% Infinna™ fiber into a woven fabric—a first for this material. It was incredibly rewarding to see the enthusiasm from our supply chain partners and receive positive feedback from test users. The low point came with the pressure of working with a limited batch of fiber, which required rigorous testing and brought uncertainty. Yet, the result—a product loved by users—made it all worthwhile.
Where do you envision your project in the next five years?
We’ve established a dedicated material innovation department to continue driving impactful projects like this one. In the next five years, we aim to transition from limited capsule collections to broader implementation. Our focus will remain on circular Design, recyclability, and an increased use of recycled content, ultimately integrating such products into our core range.
