The Hilti X-Change module is an innovative solution for drills that separates drill bits into two components: a ring and a main body. Because the customer can use the main body with a variety of rings, the system saves more than 50 percent in weight, materials and waste, all while maintaining maximum stability. Transport and storage costs are also reduced. In contrast to conventional drill bits, it is estimated that over a period of five years, the system could save 12,000 tonnes of steel (equivalent to approximately 1.5 Eiffel Towers) and approximately 24,000 tons of CO2.
