CETUS – Ultra Sensitive Fishing
Simon Bruhns | Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design
The CETUS autonomous fishing robot offers an innovative approach to bottom trawling. Here, the catch is lured into the net with no destructive ploughing of the seabed. The sorting process is assisted by sensors and hatches, and any by-catch is released immediately. Throughout, sensors perform high-coverage measurements and analyses of the ocean floor, water and biomass. The obtained data can help underpin a more sustainable and responsible fishing sector.
