»The construction industry is one of the economy’s most resource-intensive sectors. One problem is the regional availability of secondary raw materials. N1 Trading GmbH’s digital material flow management software makes it easier for building owners and demolition companies to link up and therefore plays an important role in urban mining.«

Three questions for Moritz Kern, Head of Marketing
How did the idea for digital material flow management come about?
We developed the idea for Site Depot with our customers from the construction industry. Discussions about more sustainability in construction showed that, due to a lack of transparency, the industry was discarding too much uncontaminated soil instead of recycling it.
What was your personal highlight in the digital material flow management development process? Was there a low point?
My own highlight was rolling out Site Depot with our pilot customers, who were involved in developing the concept because of their expertise. It was fantastic to see an idea becoming reality and to play a pivotal role in creating a more circular economy in the construction industry.
Where do you see your project in the next five years?
In addition to Site Depot, N1 has already developed more software-as-a-service solutions, which facilitate the identification and control of material flows and link the stakeholders with one another. As a key intersection, we want Site Depot to become a kind of operating system for more sustainability in the construction industry in the next five years.
