As last year, the jury meeting for the German Federal Ecodesign Award 2020 took place in the exhibition rooms of feldfünf. The 147 projects admitted to the meeting were presented to the jury and evaluated by them. Afterwards, the exhibition of the admitted submissions and the nominated projects was open to the public in the 400 square metre project rooms. Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about sustainable design and be inspired by visionary ideas.
From October 17 to 25, we presented the nominated and award-winning submissions for the German Ecodesign Award 2019 in a virtual exhibition at Dutch Design Week (DDW). The organizers* have found a way to make DDW 2020 happen despite the pandemic - not as usual in Eindhoven but in the digital world.
The theme of this year's edition was the search for new forms of intimacy. The motto ‘The New Intimacy’ fits into a time when contact restrictions force us to find new ways of dealing with each other. DDW's online program consisted of numerous 3D viewing rooms, live streams from and with designers* from all over the world as well as 360-degree videos and TV shows.
